According to Vedic tradition, after completing 60 years a person has lived through all planetary cycles once, and their soul begins a new spiritual journey.
The ritual expresses gratitude to the Almighty, seeks blessings for health, long life, and prosperity, and renews the sacred bond between husband and wife through a symbolic remarriage ceremony known as Kalyana Shanti.
