Skanda Shasti Pooja is a sacred ritual dedicated to Lord Murugan, performed to seek victory over negativity, protection from enemies, and spiritual strength. It removes karmic obstacles, grants success, and blesses devotees with courage, clarity, and divine grace.

Vaathiyar and devotees take a vow stating the purpose of the Homam โ such as health, prosperity, or spiritual purification.
The ritual begins with invoking Lord Ganesha to remove all obstacles and ensure the successful completion of the Homam.
Kalasams (sacred pots) are placed and worshipped, symbolizing divine presence and blessings.
Lord Subramanya (Murugan) is invoked into the main idol or yantra through Vedic mantras and prayers.
The deity is offered flowers, sandal paste, kumkum, fruits, and garlands while chanting 108 Murugan Namavali (names of the Lord).
The sacred homa kundam (fire altar) is prepared, and Agni (Fire God) is invoked. The fire is worshipped as a messenger between the devotee and the divine.
The priests chant powerful Shatru Samhara mantras, Skanda Gayatri, and Kavacham verses, offering ghee, herbs, and sacred materials into the fire.
The final and most sacred offering is made into the homa fire, symbolizing complete surrender to the divine and fulfillment of the ritualโs intention.
