Skanda Shasti Pooja is a sacred Vedic ritual dedicated to
Lord Murugan (Kartikeya / Subramanya), the divine warrior son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
This pooja is performed to invoke Lord Murugan’s divine blessings for courage, victory, wisdom, and protection.
It is especially significant during the Skanda Shasti period, observed on the sixth day after Amavasya
in the Tamil month of Aippasi (October–November), symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.
According to legend, Skanda Shasti commemorates Lord Murugan’s victory over the demon Surapadman.
