Thithi Pooja (Annual Shraddha) is a sacred ritual performed to honor and offer gratitude to one’s ancestors (Pithrus) on their death anniversary (Thithi).
Led by experienced Vedic priests, the ceremony includes Ganapathi Pooja, Sankalpa, Pinda Pradhanam, and Tarpanam, performed with utmost devotion and accuracy.
It brings peace to departed souls, removes ancestral doshas, and ensures family prosperity, harmony, and divine blessings.

The Sankalpa (intention) is made by mentioning the Gothram, ancestors’ names, and Thithi (lunar day) for which the pooja is being performed.
Lord Ganesha and the nine planets are worshipped to remove obstacles and bring divine blessings.
The priest invokes Lord Vishnu or Lord Yama, who governs the souls of the departed, to bless the ceremony and guide the ancestors to receive the offerings.
The performer offers water mixed with sesame seeds (Til) while chanting specific mantras.
Cooked food (Anna, Dal, Vegetables, Fruits, and Payasam) is offered symbolically to Brahmins or Pithrus.
In extended or premium ceremonies, a Pithru Shanti Homam is performed to offer ghee, sesame, and sacred herbs into the fire while chanting Pithru Sukta mantras.
The pooja concludes with Maha Aarthi and prayers to the deities and ancestors.
